Cookie Policy

Last updated: 12 May 2026

This page explains what cookies are, which cookies we use on pictoorstudio.com, why we use them, and how you can control them.

1. What Are Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device — your computer, phone, or tablet — when you visit it. Cookies are stored in your browser and help websites remember information about your visit so they work more smoothly or so preferences are remembered across visits.

Cookies can be:

  • Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a set period of time, even after your browser is closed.
  • First-party cookies — set by the website you are visiting.
  • Third-party cookies — set by a different domain than the one you are visiting, often used for advertising or analytics.

Not all cookies require your consent. Under EU law, cookies that are strictly necessary for a website to function, or functional cookies that store preferences you have actively set, can be placed without consent. We only use these types of cookies.

2. Cookies We Use

We use a small number of cookies — all of which are either strictly necessary for the site to function or functional cookies that remember a preference you have set. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or tracking cookies of any kind.

This table reflects all cookies in active use as of the date at the top of this page. We review and update this list whenever we make changes to our cookie usage.

3. Checkout — Stripe

When you proceed to checkout, you are redirected to a secure payment page hosted by our payment processor, Stripe Inc. This page operates on Stripe's own domain, not on pictoorstudio.com.

Stripe may set cookies on their domain during the checkout process for fraud prevention and security purposes. These cookies are set and controlled by Stripe, not by us. They are governed exclusively by Stripe's Privacy Policy. We have no access to or control over these cookies.

4. No Tracking or Advertising Cookies

We do not use any tracking or advertising technology.

pictoorstudio.com does not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Pinterest Tag, or any other analytics, advertising, or behavioural tracking service. We do not engage in remarketing, retargeting, or cross-site tracking. We do not build user profiles or interest segments. We do not share data with advertising networks.

This is not a temporary policy — tracking and advertising technology is not part of how we operate.

5. IP Geolocation — Not a Cookie

When you visit our website, we temporarily use your IP address to determine your approximate country. This is done so that we can show you prices in the currency most relevant to your location — for example, US dollars for visitors in the United States, or euros for visitors in the EU.

This process is not a cookie. Here is what happens:

  1. Your IP address is sent to an IP geolocation service solely to determine your country.
  2. The geolocation service returns a country code. Your IP address is not stored by us or retained beyond this single lookup.
  3. We determine the appropriate currency from the country code and store only the currency code (e.g. USD or EUR) in the pictoor-currency cookie in your browser.

Your IP address is not stored in our database, is not linked to your identity or your order, and is not retained after the currency has been determined.

6. Why There Is No Cookie Consent Banner

You may have noticed that we do not display a cookie consent banner or pop-up. This is intentional and lawful.

Under EU law — specifically the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and its implementation in Dutch law (Telecommunicatiewet, Article 11.7a) — cookie consent is only required for cookies that are not strictly necessary for the operation of the service. Strictly necessary cookies and functional cookies used to store preferences that a user has actively set are exempt from consent.

The cookies we use fall into the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary: The admin session cookie and the Cloudflare security cookie. These are exempt from consent.
  • Functional (currency preference): This cookie stores a currency preference that helps us display prices relevant to your location. It contains no personal data and is used only to improve your experience. It is exempt from consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive.

Since we do not use any non-essential cookies — no analytics, no advertising, no tracking — there is nothing for which we need to seek your consent. We consider a cookie banner in these circumstances to be unnecessary clutter that would not meaningfully inform or protect visitors.

7. California Residents — CCPA

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) 2023, California residents have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, including through cookies.

The cookies used on pictoorstudio.com do not constitute a sale or sharing of personal information under CCPA or CPRA. Specifically:

  • We do not share cookie data with advertising networks or data brokers.
  • We do not use cookies for cross-context behavioural advertising.
  • We do not receive any financial consideration in exchange for cookie data.
  • The currency preference cookie contains no personal information — only a currency code.

As a result, no opt-out mechanism is required in relation to our cookie usage under CCPA/CPRA. Your privacy rights under CCPA with respect to personal information we hold about you are described in our Privacy Policy.

8. How to Control Cookies

You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser allows you to view, block, or delete cookies. Below are links to the relevant help pages for the most widely used browsers:

Please note that if you delete or block the pictoor-currency cookie, prices on the website will default to a standard currency (USD or EUR depending on your location). The site will continue to function normally in all other respects.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies such as the Cloudflare security cookie may affect how the website loads and performs, as these cookies are used for network security and protection.

9. Contact

If you have any questions about how we use cookies or about this policy, please contact us at support@pictoorstudio.com.

For questions about how we handle your personal data more broadly, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to This Policy

These terms were last reviewed in 2026. We recommend periodic review with a qualified legal professional familiar with the laws applicable to your business and customer base.
